Muslims rally against ISIS on the steps of Lincoln memorial

PRESS RELEASE

American Muslims against ISIS gather up on the steps of Lincoln Memorial

Washington, DC, November 19, 2015 – Muslims around the world and particularly Americans Muslims have been sick of the terrorists, particularly the ISIS and the Al-Qaeda guys ever since they started terrorizing the lives of innocent people. We mourn the loss of lives in France, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Nigeria and elsewhere in the world and firmly stand against the terrorists.

Given the short notice prior to the Thanksgiving weekend, the Muslims of Washington, DC have organized a gathering of Americans of different faiths to come together on the steps of Lincoln Memorial and make the statements of condemnations.
We hope this event effectively conveys a message to the terrorists that the world is against them, and that we are all in this together; opposing terrorism and condemning ISIS.

You are all invited to join us on the steps of Lincoln Memorial:

The purpose of this gathering is to send a clear message to the ISIS and their ilk, that American Muslims are angry about their actions. They are to be charged for the violations of human rights, forcing women into slavery, conversions at gun point, harassment of Christians, Yazidis, Shias, Jews, Sunnis and other minorities, and most certainly creating chaos and abusing the name of Islam.

We cannot tolerate any of these acts and we urge our president to speak out in behalf of fellow humans,  and give them three days notice to back off, surrender, and repent for their actions or face the consequences.

We invite Americans of all faiths and no faiths to join us in standing up against ISIS.  Yes, we the Muslims are as angry as average American. Indeed, we are all in this together.

We pledge that we are one nation under the flag, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Please join us on the steps of Lincoln Memorial.

4th Republican Presidential Debate Tonite -11.10.15

They build expensive glamorous sets, don’t they! It’s like the wedding dress; the woman spends big time money to wear that dress just for a few hours!

It will be held in Milwaukee, WI, not the wedding, but the debate. No single candidate has emerged as the leader from the earlier debates, and I don’t see an improvement this time either.
The mistake media has made is to put everyone on the stage, 10 of them; last time Trump got a total of 9 Minutes in the 2 hours debate, others got 8 minutes or less. Instead, if they choose the top 3, each one will get at least 20-35 minutes to tell us who they are.
If the candidates have not made it to the top 3 this far out in to the campaign, they should not hog the time from the legitimate others.
In my view the top 3 should be: Trump, Carson and Rubio. All others have to go back and earn their spot, and may be if they can crawl back up with the numbers, they could be included in the 4th round of debates.
Carson will not make it in the end; he lives under a halo or something and continues to cook up unverifiable stories about his youth. Trump is good on shutting others up in a hurry, but do we need that kind of President who would not listen to any one? Personally, I would have preferred another brash guy, but at least he makes sense; Chris Christie. I am not sure about Rubio; he is dilly dallying on issues.
I think Trump would be the nominee competing with Hillary on the other side. What do you think?

A Muslim’s offer to Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump

Washington, DC, October 28, 2015 – “Don’t we want our presidential candidates to be well informed about fellow Americans?” Instead of worrying about their misunderstandings about American Muslims and Islam, Mike Ghouse has offered free consulting services to Dr. Ben Carson, and now, he extends the same to Donald Trump.

Dr. Ghouse adds, “At least the statements they make can square with the U.S. Constitution and common sense, and hopefully gain respect from fellow Americans who are Muslims, Mexicans and others.  Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are welcome to access free counseling as well.”

“As American Muslims we uphold, protect, defend and celebrate the values enshrined in our Constitution. Our faith reinforces the idea of one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all,” Ghouse has written.

Since 9/11, talk show hosts, journalists, lawmakers, and thought leaders have asked, “Where are the moderate Muslims to join the debate on social, civic, religious and political issues, including racism and violent extremism?”

Dr. Ghouse defines “moderate Muslim” as someone who respects the otherness of others and accepts the God-given uniqueness of each person in God’s creation.  He has published more than 1000 articles on diverse aspects of Islam and maintains a blog on QuranShariaBlasphemy, Apostasy, Hijab, Reforms, Ramadan, Women’s issues and community relations.  He is driven by the pluralistic wisdom in Quran, and his mission is authenticated by many a verse from Quran.

"Over and over you hear it said: If Muslims oppose terrorism, why don't they stand up and say it? If that has been you, Mike Ghouse ought to be your hero,” according the Steve Blow, a columnist with the
Dallas Morning News.

Dr. Mike Mohamed Ghouse has recently moved to Washington, D.C., and has undertaken to speak up where there is public debate about Islam. He is a proud, unapologetic Moderate Muslim and a passionate advocate of pluralism in religion, society, politics, race, culture, food and governance. He is a public speaker, thinker, writer and a commentator on pluralism and interfaith relations in America, and offers pluralistic solutions on issues of the day.

Republican Debate – who fared well?

Denver, CO, October 28, 2015 | http://CenterforAmericanPolitics.blogspot.com
Asked what their shortcomings were – except Trump, no one addressed the question. There should be a rating system in the future on the screen, who answered the questions and who did not and the audience should be able to vote for them.  Some of them sounded like sleazy salesmen (Salesmanship is a noble profession, because of them a lot of things have happened in the world – here I mean sleazy ones who would say anything to get the sale) eager to sell themselves, as if they don’t have stains, as if the public did not know it.

With ten candidates on the stage, no one really made a substantial impact. Everyone had dirty laundry, but they all made it sound like great experience. But facts don’t matter to our Republican friends.   I have no favorites at this time but I thought I would rank them based on short expressions they made. You may have a different perspective.

This ranking is my perspective strictly based on answering the question.

  1. Chris Christie – He seems to have a clear idea of what he is talking about
  2. Donald Trump – It’s me, me and me, but yet he made his points
  3. Marco Rubio – His come backs were great
  4. Ben Carson – He may have the medical deals come to haunt him
  5. Carly Fiorina – Good move up for her
  6. John Kasich – He has a good record, Rick Perry had the best record though
  7. Rand Paul – disappointed with his performance, I have more in common with him
  8. Ted Cruz – Not a team player
  9. Jeb Bush – failed miserably
  10. Mike Huckabee – He is the hanging chad.

The first four should continue and the others need to get out of the race.  Each candidate needs to have the time to respond, so we the public and assess them roundly.

Have Faith in America, Carson and Trump are losers

HAVE FAITH IN AMERICA

DO WORRY ABOUT CARSON AND TRUMP
BUT DON'T LOSE SLEEP OVER IT
Relax and be assured, we have never elected extremist presidential candidates ever, Carson and Trump will fall by the wayside, if Trump makes it in the primaries, he will lose it in general election. The Math does not support these two.

Democracies in general and two party systems in particular have the voters divided into approximately 45/45 each party with about 10% independents or a variation there of. Then there is thing called Reagan Democrats or Obama Republicans, those who choose the sensible candidate regardless of their party affiliation.

In the general election, the silent but moderate Republicans will not vote for Trump or Carson and most of the Democrats will puke at them. Even the African American votes will not go to Carson for the negative comments he has made about the African Americans. The right wing Republicans who hate Obama, will support Carson just enough to delude themselves that they are not prejudiced.

Even the Republicans on the right have condemned Carson for his remarks, Senator Lindsey Graham has made the strongest case against Carson's opportunist rhetoric. Even Ted Cruz has not spared Carson. Bernie Sanders gave it to him.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He6NKZaHXLM

Carson will fall off the radar, when it gets down to serious business.
Trump will not make it in the general Election.

Each one of them is exceptionally good in their field of specialty,  what they can do as Surgeons or businessmen, they cannot do as politicians, they are not well rounded.

I was on Fox News today the 23rd of September with Stuart Varney and made these points:

Dr. BEN CARSON  has made 5 mistakes
When I get chance, I will expand on these bullets, and will also post the video interview.

1. Did not have faith in constitution. "That all humans are created equal."

2. Did not respect Americans. They will not elect anyone who holds extreme views about fellow Americans. Just because some one runs.

3. Does not believe that one is innocent until proven guilty - he assumes all Muslims are guilty.

4. Rev Martin Luther King, Jr would rebuke him for judging people for their character based on faith

5. Opportunist - when he saw trump gaining a few points by his uncouth rhetoric, he jumped in too to get his piece.

God Save us all, and God bless America!

Dr. Ben Carson out- trumps Trump in Discriminatory Attitude.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mike Ghouse 214-325-1916
Mike@AmericanMuslimInstitution.org
Dr. Ben Carson out- trumps Trump in Discriminatory Attitude.

Washington, D.C., September 21, 2015 – Presidential hopeful Ben Carson stated on NBC’s Meet the Press yesterday, “I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation,” and.” I absolutely would not agree with that.”

As an American Muslim, I was hoping that other Republican candidates for President would not out-trump, Trump in making inappropriate, ugly remark. Look who did it this time.  It’s Doctor Ben Carson. He is a great neurosurgeon and deserves respect, but he has crossed the line by advocating denying the right to a Muslim American in the future to be the president, a right which is guaranteed under the Constitution to all Americans who were born in the U.S., without regard to their religion.

He does not get what America is all about – You don’t indict an entire community for the criminal acts of a few.  He should know better as the African Americans have been the subject of discrimination and guilt by association for a long time.  If Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., was alive, he would not have been happy with Ben Carson for judging the character of others based on their faith alone.

Can Dr. Carson answer this question that was recently posed by a man from Dallas, "I am an African American Muslim born and raised in this great country; where am I in your vision of Making America Great Again?”

When Black Americans were enslaved, and did not have any rights, President Lincoln debated between being reelected and doing what is morally right; he chose the higher moral ground and issued the Emancipation Proclamation which began the process of freedom for millions of African-Americans. He will be remembered for eternity for standing up for the rights of all Americans, even a minority who did not have any rights at that time.

Later, the Women’s suffrage bill was passed, giving the usurped rights of women back to them. Now women from both major political parties are running for the Presidency. As we have progressed, we have restored the inalienable rights of all Americans and we cannot go backwards.

“It is time for Ben Carson to issue an apology for having trampled upon the constitutional rights of a segment of the U.S. population or quit his quest for Presidency” added Ambassador Islam Siddiqui, President of the American Muslim Institution.

Donald Trump - Muslims have become the latest Punching Bag in the Republican Party Presidential Campaign for 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Muslims have become the latest Punching Bag in the Republican Party Presidential Campaign for 2016

Washington, D.C., September 21, 2015 - An unidentified man, who spoke at the Trump town hall meeting in Rochester, New Hampshire, asked the mogul at the meeting on Thursday night. "You know our current president is one. You know he's not even an American" and then he went on spewing hateful tirade against Muslims.”

Donald Trump did not stop him.  He should have corrected the man as he started to insult our President, and then he went on lumping 1.6 billion Muslims with the ISIL terrorists in Syria and Iraq. Does he not know that several Muslim countries in the Middle East are a part of the U.S. led coalition currently engaged in military operations to destroy ISIL terrorists?

Can Trump answer this question for a man from Dallas, “I am an African American Muslim born and raised in this great country?” Where am I in your vision of Making America Great Again?

In 2008, a woman at a John McCain Campaign event insisted that Obama was "an Arab." "No ma'am," McCain replied. "He's a decent, family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues."

We see the signs of desperation, when people resort to such insults; it shows they are operating from a position of weakness.  Americans are not stupid, Trump can try to tear America apart, but we are hopeful that people of goodwill will keep America together.   I hope Jeb Bush and other Republican candidates for President in 2016 call him out and do not out-trump his ugliness.
Ambassador Islam Siddiqui, President of AMI said, "As Americans we cannot remain silent, we call upon all the Presidential candidates to be aware that there are over 7.0 million peace-loving and hard-working Americans who happen to be Muslims.”

We hope Americans of all faiths will stand up for each others’ rights, which is the least we can do to build a safe and prosperous America for all.

Dear Donald,
You've said some pretty offensive things about Latino immigrants recently, and I think they're worth addressing. Because, you know, this is the United States of America, where I have a right to speak up even if I'm not a billionaire. Isn't that awesome?

Anyway, I heard what you said about the kind of people you think Latino immigrants are -- people with problems, who bring drugs, crime and rape to America. While your comments are incredibly ignorant and racist, I don't want to spend my time chastising you. I'll leave that to your business partners like Univision and NBC, who have the power to scold you where it hurts. Instead, I'm writing to say thank you!

You see, what you just did with your straight talk was send more Latino voters to the polls than several registration rallies combined! Thank you for that. Here we are pounding the pavement to get American Latinos to the polls, while your tactic proves most effective. Remarks like yours will serve brilliantly to energize Latino voters and increase turnout on election day against you and any other candidate who runs on a platform of hateful rhetoric.

Do you know why that's such a big deal, Donald? Because Latinos are the largest, youngest and fastest-growing constituency in the United States of America. That's right! You are running for President in a country where the Latino population grew by over 49 percent from 2000-2012, while the rest of the country grew by 5.8 percent. What's more, we are the future. The median age of the average Latino is 27 years old, compared to 42 years old for white Americans. In case you need a translation, that means there are a whole lot of Americans who are Latino and have the right to vote. And, we're not going anywhere.

This is the America we are actually living in. I hope by now you understand that without the Latino vote, there is no chance of you ever winning this election. If you don't believe me, you could ask President Bush or you could even ask President Obama.

You, Mr. Trump, are living in an outdated fantasy of a bigoted America. Last week, America celebrated some amazing milestones -- marriage equality, universal healthcare, removing of the confederate flag -- making it clear in which direction the country is moving. That is why racist remarks that play to extremists won't change the tide, no matter how hard you try. They will only serve to rally more Latino voters to the polls. Your negativity and your poorly thought out speech ignited a fire in our community. Thank you, Mr. Trump!

Thank you for reminding us that there remains an antiquated and endangered species of bigots in this country that we must continue to combat. Thank you for reminding us to not sit complacently at home on election day, but to run to the polls and proclaim that there is no place for your brand of racial politicking in our government. Thank you for sending out the rallying cry.

You have made your thoughts on the Latino community clear and you continue to stand by them. And in return, we will do more than tweet about our indignation and beat piñatas of your likeness. We will silence you at the polls. We will vote and use our growing position in U.S. politics. Our fellow Americans who understand and value our contributions will join us. We know there is nothing that scares you more.

The truth is, Mr. Trump, that your comments mean that you fail to see that immigrants are what have made this nation. They are at the core of our ideals, and they are the foundation that keeps us afloat. No, Mr. Trump, you may not reduce us to drug dealers and rapists. We are moms and dads, sons and daughters. We are valedictorians and honor students. We are college graduates, bankers, police officers, entertainers, teachers, journalists, politicians and we are the future of America.

Thank you for helping us in our work to energize the Latino vote and to usher in our shared future! Keep it up!
Sincerely,

America

Of Honduran decent, America was born and raised in Los Angeles and received a degree in International Relations from USC. An award winning actress, she is best known for her starring role in the ABC hit Ugly Betty. Televisa, one of the largest TV groups in the hemisphere, said in a statement that Trump's "disrespectful" remarks offended the entire Mexican population. The company said it "strongly rejects all forms of discrimination, racism and xenophobia."

NBC to Donald Trump: You're Fired; Televisa Drops Pageant
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/nbc-severing-business-relationship-donald-trump-32107097 - The link also has a video

NBC said Monday that it is ending its business relationship with moguland GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump because of comments he made about Mexican immigrants during the announcement of his campaign.
The network said it would no longer air the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, which had been a joint venture between the company and Trump. Miss USA has aired on NBC since 2003, and this year's edition was set for July 12.
"At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values," NBC said in a statement.
Trump's reply: a "weak" NBC should prepare to meet him in court.
Late Monday, Mexican media giant Televisa said it will no longer air the Miss Universe pageant and won't do business with Trump on any other communication project.
Televisa, one of the largest TV groups in the hemisphere, said in a statement that Trump's "disrespectful" remarks offended the entire Mexican population. The company said it "strongly rejects all forms of discrimination, racism and xenophobia."
A representative for Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
NBC's action comes less than a week after Univision similarly decided to ditch Trump and the pageants. Trump has also been a fixture on NBC as host of "The Apprentice" and its celebrity offshoot, and an agreement that he would no longer be on the show predated the current controversy. The network said Monday that it and producer Mark Burnett are exploring ways to continue "Celebrity Apprentice" sans Trump.
Trump said he anticipated losing the business relationship and that he's not apologizing for his statements because they "were correct."
"Whatever they want to do is OK with me," Trump told reporters in Chicago after a campaign speech before the City Club of Chicago, which is comprised of civic and community leaders.
But in a statement issued by his company in New York, Trump said "NBC is weak, and like everybody else is trying to be politically correct. That is why our country is in serious trouble."
He said he'd consider suing, as he plans to do with Univision. He also took a shot at NBC's decision to demote, but not fire, news anchor Brian Williams for telling false stories about some of the reporting he was involved in.
"They will stand behind lying Brian Williams, but won't stand behind people that tell it like it is, as unpleasant as that may be," he said.
During his presidential kickoff speech, Trump said Mexican immigrants are "bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists and some, I assume, are good people." He called for building a wall along the southern border of the United States. Trump later said that his remarks were directed at U.S. policymakers, not the Mexican government or its people.
The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, a group of 39 Latino advocacy organizations, had called on NBC to get out of business with Trump. Similarly, a petition urging the same thing on the Change.org website had gathered more than 218,000 signatures.
In a sense, NBC's hand was forced by Univision's decision. NBC's parent company, NBC Universal, owns Telemundo, the chief competitor to Univision among Spanish-language networks in the United States. Telemundo lost the contract to air Miss USA and Miss Universe to Univision.
"If they need and value the Latino community, they needed to show they knew the depth of the insult that came from Trump," said Felix Sanchez, organizer for the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda.

I am glad, I'm free, are you?

Not being affiliated with either the Republicans or Democrats, has allowed me to see who is a good candidate for America without compulsion for conformity, or guilt of seeing the good in others. I am a Muslim and I am proud to be free, Islam has allowed me to be Just, fair and free.

My faith teaches humility and I do not claim my religion to be superior, and your religion teaches the same, except that you may not have explored it. My religion suits me as yours suits you. I stand up for every human and his or her right to her space, sustenance, nurturence and freedom in the pursuit of their happiness. To be spiritual is to believe and practice God values with no barriers between you and anyone of the 7 billion of us. Are you free?

Congratulations Mr. President, time for Republicans to retreat

Thank God for the Supreme Court for upholding Obama Care. Republicans, not all the good ones, but a few extremists among them cannot fathom a black man to be the president and are constantly trying to hide behind their ugliness by making attempts to tear down every good thing Obama is doing for America. They have introduced several bills to undo affordable care… and appealed to the Supreme Court twice and got rejected. I urge the good Republicans to speak up and save their party from the extremists elements among them who don’t give flip about average Americans – and they should, ultimately, it is all of us, 100% of Americans that makes this country run.
America will stand with Obama and not these guys who are determined to ruin America. Good Republicans, please speak up and put this thing behind and move on with producing good things for America. Obama is one of the few best presidents we have had in 50 years and earn some respect by respecting him.

Rick Perry embraces Muslims, a gutsy political first

Rick Perry embraces Muslims, a gutsy political first http://centerforamericanpolitics.blogspot.com/

Abstracts from my upcoming article, pending publication

Addison, Texas – June 4, 2015 – It takes guts, a lot of guts for a Presidential candidate to embrace Muslims from the word go!  Perry has got that. Given the unabashed bigotry displayed by a number of Presidential candidates against Muslims, Rick Perry took the bold step in paving the way for inclusionary politics in the GOP.
This is a historic event in the annals of America’s evolution of pluralistic politics. Perry may turn the tide and knock out bigotry in other candidates minds, even if it is in their hearts.

I hope to interview all the presidential candidates to see how pluralistic they are, and how much they really understand about the need to have a strongly woven social fabric for a safe, secure and prosperous America. We cannot have a candidate who is prejudiced towards fellow Americans.

What a joy it was to see two Muslims with Perry on the first
day of announcement - Amir and Arman Rupani
A few minutes with Sean Hannity
After the event

Among the array of 2016 candidates, four will pass the initial test; Hilary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and Rick Perry.

I don’t know how many of the Presidential candidates we have to be forgiven for ‘they know not’ about fellow Americans.  In the 2012 run, the following candidates displayed their shameless bigotry towards Muslims and some of them have said they will not hire a Muslim in their administration, and they are;  Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Michelle Bachman. Carson, Huckabee, Santorum and Jindal will not even make it through the primaries, they are too biased to lead an America of different faiths, races and ethnicity - there is enough material to nail them, they may be good for a Hospital, Arkansas, Pennsylvania and Louisiana respectively, but not for America

Sean Hannity was at the announcement for an exclusive interview with candidate Perry, and prior to that he asked me, if I was supporting Perry, I said, not yet, not until I talk to him about what kind of America he envisions, is he committed to a cohesive America?  Sean asked me what I mean by it.   I said it is an America where every American is given equal access to employment, entrepreneurship, and governance in his or her pursuit of happiness, and where no American has to live in apprehension or fear of the other.

What is a cohesive America – please watch this 10 minutes trailer of a documentary coming up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMXsTo4VYh8
