Gov. Perry Unable to Find Vagina on Anatomical Doll

Gov. Perry Unable to Find Vagina on Anatomical Doll

In a skirmish at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston about the state’s new ultra-restrictive abortion law, Democratic Senator Wendy Davis angrily told Texas Republican Governor Rick Perry he knows nothing about human reproduction or women’s vaginas.

“You don’t have to own an SUV to know where to pump the gas,” responded Perry, drawing immediate boos from the small lecture hall full of med students and from some of the media in attendance.

As the governor’s press handlers started to interrupt, Perry waved them off and stepped up to an anatomically-correct ‘female’ doll used in medical training that was laying on an examining table in the room.
“I’m not stupid.  Those are the vagina right there,” said Perry, pointing at but not touching the labi majora, the visible protruding edges leading in to the vagina.

As CNN reported, the room went quiet for a very brief second before erupting in “loud, loud laughter and what-the-f’s.”  Over the noise, Senator Davis could be heard repeating over and over, “Are you kidding me?  Are you kidding me?”

Perry has been heavily criticized by large numbers of Texans and other Americans for signing into law House Bill 2 which bans abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy and sets restrictive conditions that will shut down the vast majority of the state’s women’s health clinics that provide the service.  The clinics that will remain in business are owned by United Surgical Partners, a company marketed by Perry’s sister, Milla Perry Jones, who is also a shareholder.

As reporters began shouting questions at Governor Perry, he and security team agents huddled around the medical-training doll with Chief of Staff Billy B. Adair seen talking quietly into Perry’s ear.
“Hell, I was close,” said Perry, shrugging to the crowd in the room as he was shuffled out of the room speaking back over his shoulder.

“It’s all about protecting unborn life not about where some gal’s body parts are.  I knew it was there somewhere…” he could be heard saying as his voice trailed off into the hallway.

Senator Davis, who filibustered the first attempt to pass the abortion bill, said she couldn’t stop laughing because Perry’s comments were so “scary, scary stupid.”

“He just compared women’s bodies to his Chevy Suburban,” said Davis loudly over the buzz of talking in the room.

“Governor Perry couldn’t find a vagina today.  Governor Perry couldn’t find a vagina even if you put a post-it note on it.”

Crazy Republican Liz Cheney's agenda

Our stupidity is all cornered into the cespool called Republican Territory. This is the dumbest campaign agenda, I have seen.

Its hard to understand the people in the Wyoming, if they vote for her. A candidate should bring a sense of safety and not scare the shit out of people.

This is pathetic, we have to fix our party before it is swallowed by idiots.

Moderate republican majority does nothing, but the intolerant ones will not watch it. This has got to change. Reagan is not God and must be subjected to criticism like any one else.

Politically correct TV executives and advertisers are rushing to censor the talk show host for exercising his right to free speech.

http://www.salon.com/2001/09/24/maher_5/
Since Sept. 11, we’ve been told again and again that our failure to act in a certain way would be the moral equivalent of allowing the terrorists to win. As in: “If we don’t get back to work, they win;” or “If we don’t go ahead and play football this weekend, they win;” or “If this changes the way we think about Arab-Americans, they win.” And, in a way, it’s true — few of us are going to be fighting the battle on the ground in Afghanistan, but there are ways in which we can all do our part. Ways that include resolutely defending values that define our country.
But just as this new military battleground is going to be complicated and risky, so, too, is the one at home. And in the last few days, there is one front where it appears that our enemies might be winning: the First Amendment. To the extent that we give up our fundamental freedoms of expression and dissent, then, yes, “they” have clearly won.
One of those battles is going on right now. It involves Bill Maher, who has been excoriated for what he said on “Politically Incorrect” last week. But excoriation — a valuable form of free speech — is not a problem. Censorship is.
Aren’t “they” winning when three ABC affiliates, including the Washington, D.C. station, cancel the show?
Aren’t “they” winning when networks cave in to rabble-rousing, self-promoting radio shock jocks like Dan Patrick from Houston who started this tempest in a teapot, and who midweek called the show to suggest himself as a guest?
And aren’t “they” winning when major sponsors like Federal Express and Sears put a higher price on their corporate image than on the essential democratic ingredient of free speech by pulling their ads? These companies have no problems defending capitalism, but they shrink from defending the values that make it possible.
When the country just learned with such penetrating anguish what real terror is, how can the corporate logo polishers fear Bill Maher? Particularly when the point he was making was such an important one.
So what, exactly, was his point?
In response to conservative guest Dinesh D’Souza’s assertion that people who are willing to die in service to their cause, whatever else they may be, are not “cowards,” Maher said: “We have been the cowards lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That’s cowardly.”
I was sitting next to Bill when he said this. And not only did I not object, I wholeheartedly agreed. In fact, in the past, I’ve made much the same criticism of a foreign policy that obliges our military to fight at great remove from the theater of battle. It was a mistake when we bombed a pharmaceutical factory in the Sudan, and it was a mistake when we killed the very Albanian refugees we were trying to protect with our indiscriminate carpet-bombing of Kosovo.
President Bush, himself, has been making much the same point that Bill Maher did: “It will not look like the air war above Kosovo two years ago, where no ground troops were used and not a single American was lost in combat.”
Presumably, if Maher had made those same comments on Sept. 10, nobody would have batted an eyelid. But by uttering the same opinion seven days later, he put the very existence of his show at risk.
Have we all gone mad? What becomes of a country when opinions considered perfectly legitimate — and indeed uttered by hundreds of academics, journalists and members of Congress — suddenly become a crime worthy of the media death penalty?
If the attacks on innocent American lives end up making us more like our attackers, don’t they most spectacularly win? And don’t the corporate sponsors, the affiliates, and ABC itself see the inconsistency in the fact that, as a way of showing solidarity against the Taliban, they are using the Taliban’s trademark weapon — the stifling of dissent?
Isn’t freedom what we’re fighting for? And isn’t lack of freedom — including freedom of the press — the hallmark of our enemies?
“Cowardly” was the injurious word uttered by Maher. Well, let me use it now where it really belongs — to describe ABC if it decides to cancel a show that is, after all, called “Politically Incorrect.”
The “Politically Incorrect” episode in question was the first since the attack. At curtain time, the entire studio was electric with anxiety. “Politically Incorrect,” though it deals with serious subjects is, after all, a satirical program. So we all held our breath as Bill stepped onto the tightrope.
Maher’s tone-setting opening comments, which took the place of his usual monologue, were nothing short of brilliant and — in light of the media firestorm that followed — remarkably prescient. “I do not relinquish,” he said, “nor should any of you, the right to criticize, even as we support, our government. This is still a democracy, and they’re still politicians … Political correctness itself is something we can no longer afford. Feelings are gonna get hurt so that actual people won’t, and that will be a good thing.” At the end of the show, the audience rose in a standing ovation.
As well as being the host of the show, Bill is my friend. And, as his friend, at that moment, and throughout that show, I was really proud of him. Proud of how perfect a note he had struck between rallying around the flag, showing grief, and expressing dissent. How he had shown that they are not mutually contradictory. And everything that has happened since has only made me prouder of him — and more disgusted at the politically correct cowards who are trying to stifle him.
We cannot let them succeed, for, as Benjamin Franklin put it, “Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.”

Allen West persists because the good for nothing Republican majority won't do a thing about it.

Evil persists because good men do nothing about it, Allen West persists because the good for nothing Republican majority won't do anything about it, but I am speaking out.

Allen West has a few losers who applaud him for making stupid statements like that - as long as we have them in our party, he will keep doing it. He should learn that idiots like Santorum, Gingrich and their likes were badly turned down by the Republicans. Extremism and ugliness have no place in America.

Republicans need to get their act together, before the American public including Republicans puke on them in 2014.

Allen West: Muslims Are All 'Honor Killings, Beheadings, Suicide Bombings'
The Huffington Post  |  By
Former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) boiled down the entire religion of Islam to "honor killings, beheadings [and] suicide bombings" in a message tweeted Monday night in response to a column by comedian Bill Cosby.

Last week, Cosby wrote an op-ed in the New York Post encouraging African American communities to abandon apathy in an effort to better raise the next generation. In one passage, Cosby suggested that some parents could take cues from Muslims:
I’m a Christian. But Muslims are misunderstood. Intentionally misunderstood. We should all be more like them. They make sense, especially with their children. There is no other group like the Black Muslims, who put so much effort into teaching children the right things, they don’t smoke, they don’t drink or overindulge in alcohol, they protect their women, they command respect. And what do these other people do?

Allen West        ✔ @AllenWest
2day in NY Post, Bill Cosby said we should b more like Muslims. U mean honor killings, beheadings, suicide bombings? Hope ur kidding sir.

They complain about them, they criticize them. We’d be a better world if we emulated them. We don’t have to become black Muslims, but we can embrace the things that work.
West responded in a tweet ignoring the values that Cosby had chosen to highlight. Here's how he explained Muslim behavior instead:

West was an outspoken critic of Islam and Muslims throughout his short tenure in Congress. In 2011, a member of the Council on Islamic-American Relations questioned the tea party-backed congressman, asking him clarify an earlier claim that the Quran commands Muslims "to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people." West appeared upset at the man's defense of moderate Islam, telling him not to "try to blow sunshine up my butt." West had long contended that CAIR had ties to extremist groups.

CAIR got the last laugh earlier this year, however, when the organization auctioned off a letter written by West to its Florida chapter for more than $2,500.
Thank you.

Republicans, I told you so!

The GOP needs to listen to guys like me who are critical of the leadership. We will fix you up guys, on you own, you don't have the brains to see your problems. You don't see that you are war mongers, you don't see that you are anti-middle America, you don't see that you are anti-equality of women,  you don't' see that you are anti-liberty, you don't see your double talk about liberty, you don't see that you want to force women to obey you, you don't see that you want to intrude in private lives of gays and lesbians, and you have illogical hatred for Muslims. Are you really conservatives? These are not conservative values, these are values of the frightened bulls that attack anything in sight.

We the moderates are here to fix you, its time you listen to us. We have nothing to gain, no one to dupe, but to do good for America with a strong two party system that represents the will of the people.

I see a ray of hope, and glad that GOP is waking up to the post Mortem report. Maggie Haberman writes at Politico, " The Republican National Committee concedes in a sprawling report Monday that the GOP is seen as the party of “stuffy old men” and needs to change its ways. Among the RNC’s proposed fixes: enacting comprehensive immigration reform, addressing middle-class economic anxieties head on and condensing a presidential primary process that saw Mitt Romney get battered for months ahead of the general election."

The leadership was and perhaps is too dumb to realize that it was the Republican moderates who mercilessly dumped the self-proclaimed extremists, disguised as conservatives like Bachman, Santorum, Gingrich, Cain, Perry and others.

Romney is deficient in morals, two days after the expose on MSNBC about his blatant lying, he had the audacity to tell the CPAC that his remarks were for private audience. So a man like him will say one thing to his privates and one to the public. Do America need these kind of men? Do we need to dump him as an useless guy and move on, or grill him about his morality? I am embarrassed that he got the applause at CPAC, what are the folks at CPAC made of?

Any way Romney played moderate during the first half of the primaries, when others fell, he became the tortoise who would clutch the nomination, so he cheated the conservative by playing conservative, and  got the nomination.  The Chameleon was ready for the next phase to play moderate to wean Obama supporters, and played their game. Of course that ruthless shameless remark of 47% got him nailed.

I thank God every day, that we don't have that idiot as our president. Imagine what he would have done, to please the few, who do not even represent American or the Israeli public, he would have gone to war with Iran to please the bone thrower Netanyahu and eggers like Gingrich, Santorum and their Gang. He  would have screwed America, did it matter to him? No, he was secure with his money stashed away in Bahamas. Did he care about the 47%?. Thank you lord for saving America from another disaster.

We the moderate republicans are the genuine base of Republicans, and not the rabble rousers like Karl Rove, Limbaugh and others who kept lying to the GOP through the end. Either they had no idea or were simply duping the public. GOP does not matter to them, the money it brings to them does.

Wake up Priebus, learn the truth and listen to the moderates, we have been telling about this.  America needs to stand firmly on the two party system, we cannot afford to lose the house in 2014, if we don't speak out against the daily stupidities coming out of Republicans, we will lose the majority. Mark my words, I am going to tell you,  I told you so.

Mike Ghouse is a Republican committed to moderation to preserve the plurality of our country, which is overwhelmingly moderate.

Paul calls GOP 'stale and moss covered'

Rand Paul,

I may be not with you on other issues, but I am with you on this. Indeed, I wrote this yesterday.
"As a Republican, it is my duty to speak out against the non-sense in my party, and if we don't guard the fall, then I will be letting us die a slow death. I am worried about 2014. I have a feeling we will lose a lot of these disgusting Republican Senators and Congressional Republicans."

So happy to read your stuff, this is what we need to do, we have to have the balls to speak up boldly, our fellow Republicans no nothing about people, math or connecting with them, yet they have the gall to believe that the public is with them. Hell no! Speak up Rand.  Shake some sense into these dormant minds.

Mike Ghouse

OXON HILL, Md. -- Rand Paul had tough words for his own party, describing it as “stale and moss covered” before conservatives at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

“The Republican Party has to change by going forward to the classical and timeless ideas enshrined in our Constitution,” the Kentucky senator said here. He added, “We need a Republican Party that shows up on the Southside of Chicago and shouts at the top of our lungs 'We are the party of jobs and opportunity. The GOP is the ticket to the middle class.' The GOP of old has grown stale and moss-covered. I don't think we need to name any names here, do we?”

The critique of the GOP received resounding applause from this crowd, but the reception for Paul, whose tone could be described as solemn, wasn’t full-throated. His speech, in fact, highlighted the difficulty he would face if he were to make an expected 2016 run.

Paul, the heir to his father Ron’s “torch of liberty,” tried here to straddle the line between his staunch libertarianism -- which includes dovish views on foreign policy, privacy rights and even drug use -- with his conservative line on spending that principally makes him a darling of these activists.

Many here praised Paul for his modern-era record 13-hour filibuster. But not all did so on the substance.“I have a message for the President, a message that is loud and clear, a message that doesn't mince words,” Paul began.
“Don't drone me, bro!” interrupted one young supporter.

The crowd laughed; Paul leaned back, took it in, and joked that that was not exactly the message.
But Paul only received tepid applause as he made his way through the opening section of his speech about civil liberties and drone use. Paul has raised questions about the administration’s contention that drones could be used against Americans acting as enemy combatants on American soil.

“Good intentions are not enough,” Paul said was his message for President Barack Obama. The were just a smattering of applause.

“If we allow one man to charge Americans as enemy combatants and indefinitely detain or drone them, then what exactly is it our brave young men and women are fighting for?” Paul said, and again just tepid applause.
“Our Bill of Rights is what defines us and makes us exceptional,” Paul said to polite applause.

On reaching out to youth, Paul said, “They want leaders that wont feed them a line of crap or sell them short. They aren't afraid of individual liberty.” Just a light round of claps.

Paul was much better received when criticizing the president for spending, taxes, the sequester, and cutting foreign aid and waste – instead of White House tours.

“The only stimulus ever proven to work is leaving more money in the hands of those who earned it!” Paul said.

“Only in Washington could an increase of $7 trillion in spending over a decade be called a cut,” Paul said of the sequester. And added to raucous applause: “Meanwhile the President found an extra $250 million to send to Egypt. … I say-not a penny more to countries that burn our flag.”

Paul contended that instead of eliminating White House tours, he should cut research for “monkeys on meth,” robotic squirrels, and menus for colonization on Mars that were developed by college students given all-expense paid trips to Hawaii.

“Mr. President, maybe we could have cut robotic squirrels before White House tours,” Paul said.

Obama is too civilized to give them the finger.

We the Republicans are losing everywhere, not necessarily because Obama is doing the right things, but because we are doing all the dumb and stupid things.

As a Republican, it is my duty to speak out against the non-sense in my party, and if we don't  guard the fall, then I will be letting us die a slow death. I am worried about 2014. I have a feeling we will lose a lot of these disgusting Republican Senators and Congressional Republicans.

Nearly 92% of Americans want background check on gun sales, and what do these idiots do, vote against it. On the top of it, on the equal pay for women 22 of these idiots in Senate and 138 in Congress vote against it. They simply don't get it and will lose big time in 2014. I hate to see that happen, we need to have each house in different party's hands, and with a simple majority and not a bully majority. Americans in general, and Republicans in particular need to dump these creeps.
We need our representative to represent our sentiments and our needs and not be sell themselves cheaply to lobbyists.

John McCain, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham expressed their belligerence in the nomination process of Chuck Hagel and John Brennan. Obama is too civilized to show them his finger. Furthermore Obama does not want to waste time in engaging in unnecessary debates and that makes him a winner against these losers. Dianne Feisenstein had to literally tell Graham to shut up during the hearings.

Masters in Rudeness
There is not a day that goes by without a stupid comment from a Republican. The only saving grace is Rand Paul and Ted Cruz who fried Eric Holder in giving an answer. If I were Obama, I would tell Eric not to waste public’s money. If a question is asked, damn it give a straight answer and don’t dance around it. Just tell it like it is, we do not kill American Citizens on our land, any conditions, period.

We the Republicans were disgraceful in not acknowledging the lowering unemployment figures of 7.7%, we are so hateful towards Obama that we don’t’ even want to give him the credit. It is as if we wanted Americans to suffer and not have the job, we are on the path of self destruction. I hope we the moderates can speak out strongly and save our party.

Today some of the Republican nuts send me a link where Michelle Obama selected singer Adele to sing on her 50th birthday. Now they are picking on her. The Americans have voted them in, and simply accept it. She is not doing anything different than Laura, Barbara, Nancy, Rosalyn or Jackie. I think we should rise above pettiness.

When we don't have something substantial, we resort to these. I am the best thing Republicans can ever get; I do not praise them when they display their stupidities, and I speak up and keep waking them up so they don’t lose out big in 2014.

We cannot afford jerks like Bachman itching non-stop to defund Obama care, it is there, accept it and move on. Don’t waste our time in chasing the losing causes. I really feel sorry for the Minnesotans for electing her.

Mike Ghouse is a moderate Republican, who see through the stupidities of the party and speaks out. He cares about checks and balances and does not want the Republican Party to be slaughtered in 2014. We need to have strong two party systems to have stability in our policies.
